With 16 years experience working for clients all over the world, I create playful and charismatic illustration from my studio in Sheffield, England.
Drawing is at the heart of all my work and each brief begins with ideas sketches, character doodles or composition draughts. These sketches are then developed into detailed drawings and become bold black and white or colourful designs using watercolour, gouache and digital techniques. I love to conjure up charming characters, zoos of animals or dinosaurs and am always on the look out for the next intriguing picture book and exciting project.
I began art school with a foundation course at Central Saint Martins, then after gaining a 1st BA (Hons.) in Graphic Design, I began my design career working in-house for UK Department Store NEXT designing children’s bedding, home and gifting ranges.
To further develop my illustration skills, I later went on to complete a MA in Illustration at Falmouth University, Cornwall and now work as a freelance illustrator being commissioned by publishers and clients to create picture books, greeting & gifting ranges, bedding, packaging and a variety of children's merchandise.
I also create original, personalised artwork for clients' home and office spaces.
Aside from drawing, I try to fit in lots of cycling and hiking in my local Peak District and travel to much bigger snow covered mountains whenever possible!
